A festival story, just for fun

How the story comes together
The story is set on the day a small festival takes place in the neighborhood you have just moved to. You choose how your day begins and one thing to carry with you, and you get a short ending written for that particular combination.
Every combination has its own ending. The same start with something different in your hands ends somewhere else, and the same object can be put to a different use depending on where the day began.
Nothing in the story depends on speed or on getting anything right. You can take as long as you like over each choice, and go back and change your mind before the ending appears.
Not a reading of your personality
Each ending has a short name, but the name belongs to the day in the story, not to you. This is not a psychological profile or a personality result, and nothing about who you are is inferred from what you pick.
Unlike the other quizzes, it is not meant to make you reflect on your choices. It is a short story to enjoy for a moment. The endings offer no advice and no interpretation, only something that might have happened that day. So there is no right answer and no better ending. You can compare endings with a friend, but a different ending does not mean the two of you are different kinds of people.
See the endings for yourself
None of the endings are listed here. An ending appears once you have chosen both your start and your object; if one is missing, you can go back to the question you left out and carry on.
You can save your ending as an image, but the site itself keeps no record of what you chose. Close the page and the story goes with it. How it works covers the principles behind every result here.
